As You Like It...

Our first job of the our first evening in Kilkenny was a little Shakespeare in the castle stable area. The Globe Theatre was presenting "As You Like It". 3 hours of medieval fun and frivolity. I hadn't seen this one before, I'm more of a Romeo and Juliet fan, but this was great! They we're funny and so clever to remember soooooo many shakespearean words!

Then as soon as the bows were being taken, we rushed down the next venue - The Set, where an Irish techno electronomic band called Jape were playing. When I was googling, they seemed interesting and a little different..... And different they were! When the trio first starting playing, I was instantly reminded of the Friends episode where Ross gets his old electronic keyboard out and plays this terrible futuristic music, but then they got right into the swing of it and the crowd swarmed forward with their fists in the air (in a good way). He was so quirky and having such a great time, you couldn't help but like him. When we were leaving we bumped into them and had a quick word of how great it was - bless him....... He was about 5ft. He looked much taller on the stage!
