Galway Girls

So..... we made it to Galway.

Galway is a beautiful little town.  Lots of shops and restaurants and bars and souvenir shops selling the same terrible fridge magnets!

As previously mentioned, the weather hadn't been its best in the south of Ireland and as a result Galway and Northern Ireland was getting hit with a bit of wind and rain.  Now we had organised a kayaking trip in the bay for the afternoon and we were a little worried about how we would handle the enjoyment level of a windy kayak trip..... my guess early on would have been nil.

I rang my man at the kayaking centre who assured me that all was well where he was - an hour south of Galway, but where we were - it was blowing an absolute gale and rain could be seen coming in over the bay.  So we decided to forgo the adventure and look around Galway instead - a great idea!  Shoes were purchased, Lady Guinnesses were drank and a much more civilised and relaxing time was had by all! You dont' actually realise when you're booking these things from the comfort of your own lounge room just how much time you'll have in a place.  In hindsight, it was probably better to just play things by ear, but we have a wonderful world in hindsight, don't we lads?  I could hear myself speaking in an Irish accent just then.
