As we were looking around Galway, we came across a bridge where everybody was looking over the side. We naturally crossed over to see what all the fuss was about.
There was one man fishing for salmon in the very fast flowing river.
We're not sure how long he'd been there but we're sure that his wife had said something along the lines of "You go and catch us dinner and don't come home until you get something!". We'd only just looked over and his line pulled down - he was on!
It took about 20 minutes to pull the baby to shore. He was experienced and methodical. He didn't once pay a scrap of attention to the growing crowd of tourists watching him from the bridge.
He finally got it up on dry land and then hit it over the head a few times until it stopped moving. I'm thinking the fish thought if I play dead, this headache might just subside before I drown!
Then, he simply picked up his catch for the day
and went home.........
Not even a wave fort the crowd!
