Tonight was to be Tan's (or Big Vinnie, as we like to call her) last night in Ireland on the last night for her on the Living the Dream tour..... so it was decided by all that it should be a big night out.
Tapas was our choice of food because it was going to be light and not so filling....... but apparently that's only if you don't eat everything on the menu!
Our next port of call was to find some live music. There was one pub close to our B&B that was recommended not only by the B&B owners, but also by an American couple we had met at breakfast this morning.
They told us that the upstair of the Crane Bar was great. Not too many people, so there wasn't a fight for the bar and there were tables so you weren't pushed past by people etc... etc....
When we got there, we went straight upstairs - to an empty venue. 1st clue?
The ladies on the door asked us for a €5 entry fee as the Mna Mna evening was going to start in 10 minutes or so. Mna in Irish is women and the Mna Mna evening was all about celebrating women in music so every Thursday they have 3 female artists playing their tunes.
"Great" we thought. This should be good - even though there was apparently live music on down stairs for free..... but what's €5 for some good live music?
While we waited for the band..... what was supposed to take 10 minutes took nearly 50! Lu told us a story about when she was a pub and had put a coaster on her nose and then said "alright, who's throwing coasters?" Apparently all her family do it and it's a riot. Well, it made us laugh and gave us something to do.
Honestly..... who keeps throwing coasters? Gee we laughed!
