Brekkie and a Show

There is nothing I enjoy more than to sit and eat a scrumptious breakfast and be treated to an aural show of conversation at the next table. People who think that it's ok (or perhaps they just don't think at all!) to speak really loudly to each other so your own conversation has to stop because it feels like you need to wait for a break in their conversation before you can have a go.

Yesterday we were treated ago Karen, who seemed to know everybody in the small hotel dining area.  She was giving travel advice to everyone in earshot. We also learned that while Karen and her family were going to walk around, her mother was not going to go with them.  She was going to wait and then take the double decker bus.  We had this drummed into us as she told every knew person that past her table. What a treat!

This morning...... We have the family from the USA, Mom, Dad, Son and Daughter.  I assume the dog and station wagon are back home in the states. Their conversation consisted of Dad 'explaining' what USA needed to do in the Olympics to beat China. But my favourite part was when Dad was regaling them with the things he loves about Paris. "I love the calm. In our country we're all fast fast fast, but here, I love the calm." Son: "I hate the calm." Mom: "don't say that." Dad: "don't hate the calm." You have to imagine it being said in a loud American voice.

Gold!
