There is a bridge in Paris that is famous for having hundreds of padlocks attached to it. Apparently the tradition started in Italy and it is where young lovers come to declare their love for one another. They write or engrave their names on a padlock and attach it to the bridge then throw the key into the Seine binding their love together forever (although, if you were smart you'd keep an extra key, just in case it didn't work out!)
