So back on the bus and this time in a different direction. We were headed down through the 4th arrondissent and down to the 12th along the Seine. All of a sudden we had left the beauty of central Paris and all the beautiful old buildings with their gorgeous facades and pretty wrought iron balconies and we were shunted into an era of terribly unimaginative architects and creatively challenged designers. It was depressing and I put my camera away knowing that I would find no beauty here!
On the way back in the romantasism of central Paris, I said to Madds that I wished I didn't know that that part of Paris existed. She suggested I put it out of my mind as she had and could I please not mention it again.
Job done! 12th - you are dead to us.
