F.I.R.E ! ! !

After arriving at Sun Peaks, we were all very tired and emotional.  Some people had dum down wid dumpthink, including myself.  So we got off the bus and went straight to our rooms. I got into bed whilst Jen had a shower before dinner.  Then..... The fire alarm went off.  We stared at each other for a few moments, then went out into the corridor and stared at each other there, then when some other people came out of their rooms, we headed for the stairs.  I didn't think to put shoes or a jacket on and I wasn't the only one.... Nigel, a retired British Officer had been swimming so he appeared in his robe and slicked back hair, Nola had an asthma attack and needed oxygen from the paramedics and the hotel staff handed out tiny towels to keep us warm until the fire department showed up.

It turned out to be a broken sprinkler in the kitchen, which had flooded, so no dinners were to be served.  Luckily our buffet was already prepard and ready to go.

On our way back up the stairs, as the lifts were still out of use, we met Trev and his wife, Barb who didnt realise that you have to leave your room when the fire alarm goes off!!

The next morning we got up really early and left..... So Sun Peaks will unfortunately be in my memory for all the wrong reasons.
