When we were younger, my cousin, Suzanne once took us over to the Chapman River, in Geraldton on a sort of 'killing time before mum picked us up' trek..... Suzanne is 6 years older than me and at that time was somewhat mischievous and told us that she had seen fresh bear tracks by the river and made us run all the way back to her house, screaming and throwing our arms about as if shooing flies away...
Well, since visiting Canada, I can confidently tell you Suzie, that there are no bears around the Chapman River region of Geraldton and if you see a bear you are never to run with flailing arms.... And, this (pictured above) is actually what a bear track Iooks like!
Talk about gullible!
