Our stop for the next two nights is Quebec City in the French speaking provence of Quebec - by the way, you pronounce it Kebec and you will be corrected if you try and make the 'kw' sound that 'qu' usually makes, However, Jenny and I are used to it as she lives in Quayside Close - pronounced Keyside, so we're like locals.
This is the Chateau Frontenac, which is where we're staying and is the centre of the old Quebec City. It is the only walled city in North America and has done a superb job at keeping their historical sites original. That's one thing that I find the French do well.
The only thing that would be good to be updated is the showers. Poor us.... we've had some of the worst showers on our trip and let me just say that I'm very glad we didn't bring our cat - because the bathrooms here are just not cat swinging size! Other than that - it's been perfect.
I've even perfected a few phrases in French that have helped me along the way: "Excuse me Madam. Can you help me please? Where is the bathroom?" Then they tell me in really fast French, to which I have to say "I'm sorry, do you speak English?" they tell me in English and I say "Thank you, have a good day, goodbye" - all in French! I'm so proud of myself.
