Proud to be a Canadian

So.... the tour which was led by Dennis (or Dennie as you pronounce it in French, remember we're in the French speaking pronvence of Quebec now) was quite interesting. He was a history major and so knew lots of interesting facts like dates of wars and etc..... he also had some humourous stories about bumping into politicians and acting all giddy like they were George Clooney or something.... He did take us to this very cool museum called The Musem of Civilization and it was built to represent all sorts of different parts of Canada. This picture shows the biggest indoor collection of totem poles in Northern America. Can you see the funny high shelf to the bottom right? It's covered in blankets for a special ceremony where someone will stand on the top and hand them out..... but when we asked Dennie why it was so high, he had to go down stairs to ask some people and when he came back just said, "It's a platform, not a shelf or a roof" The rest we found out from one of our tour group who had been on a previous tour that explained it. Lucky she was there.
