The Chateau Montabello

To add to the highlights, we are staying at the Chateau Montabello. Just near the park. It is a massive log cabin. It was one man's dream to build it years ago and it only took 6 months to complete. Apparently there were workers working around the clock to get it done in time and at one point the local priest tried to stop the long working day saying that men shouldn't be working this many hours and that he was going to fight for their rights...... so they sent him to Rome on an all expenses paid holiday to visit with the pope..... and the hotel was completed.

It's absolutely amazing! There's a huge 5 point fire place in the middle of the building and then all the corridors of rooms come of the centre from the fire place.

It was lovely because it was raining, so it was nice and cozy, but imagine what it would be like when it was snowing?
