This was the first house that the Scots built. It was apparently the same design that they used in Scotland. They kept everyone in there - all the family, the animals, the camp fire, everything..... it was so smoky that I couldn't go it and Jenny stank when she came out. Let's all be thankful that we didn't live in Scotland or Nova Scotia in the 1770's.
