This is my favourite Anne quote.

There are two paths that lead from the house that look exactly the same. One is called Lover's Lane and the other took you to a bridge where Anne said this line to Gill after a lifetime of him loving her and her not forgiving him for breaking her slate over his head, but secretly loving him....... oh, the romance!
