This is the little cove, and the legend has it that there was a woman who used to live there named Margaret and that the cove was named after her nickname, Peggy..... or it could have been that the water way ran into Margaret's Bay...... or that a fisherman had to leave his love behind in Ireland and her name was Peggy and he wanted to name the cove after her.....
Nobody really knows why it's called Peggy's Cove, but it's a sweet little village with a whopping great lighthouse and if it wasn't for the massive gift shop on the point, it would have fallen to rack and ruin many years ago!
