There is a ghostly tale that goes with Ballygally Castle.......it is about the devastating and untimely death of Lady Isabella Shaw. The story goes that she was married to the cruel Lord James Shaw and after she gave birth to their child, he locked her in the tower and stole the child away. In a desperate attempt to get to her child, she fell out of the tower window to her death. There are also stories that she was pushed by Lord James or one of his henchmen, which is probably more likely. Guests at the hotel say they often say they have sensed a presence.
We thought that it was possibly Isabella turning up the heating at night.
This was her bedroom.
