In Canada blackberries grow wild along the freeways and major roads, so when we got to the market on Granville Island we really wanted to try them. They were on the counter next to the most beautiful looking blueberries and strawberries and plumbs etc..... we grabbed a punnet and because we were a little confused and they were very busy we ended up with 2 pounds of blackberries. They were delicious, but we ate a few then carried them around all day and night until the next morning when it was decided that they had started to smell a little - so they were thrown out.
