One Hurl Over The Bar is Worth Three in the Net

Lu, being the international sports guru had an idea to check out a game of Hurling whilst in Ireland. Hurling? I hear you ask. That's right, Hurling. An all Irish game, played in no other country in the world. There are 18 players on each team - 15 on the pitch and 3 reserves. They use a "hurlie", which is a stick shaped like a big flat spoon and a ball that is like a cricket ball, but heavier and harder. I know all of this because we had a quick lesson from a couple of nice blokes in the pub.

So it was decided that we should go to the Kilkenny v Tipperary semi final in Dublin the next day. We'd been through Tipp (as the locals call it) and decided it was a dirty old town - nothing redeeming about it. And Kilkenny was our favourite town thus far, so we would be supporting the Kilkenny Kats and black and yellow flags and things were purchased.

Thanks to free wifi everywhere, we logged on to Irelands ticket master and got 3 tickets. Easy as that! People were telling us that it was going to be bigger than the grandfinal. Honestly, we have just fallen into all the good stuff.
